The Gentle Strength of Letting Go
Resilience is a powerful animal portrait that captures the grace, endurance and quiet determination of the horse. Rendered in luminous shades of white, silver, charcoal and gold against a deep black background, the horse appears to emerge from darkness with a calm yet unwavering presence.
Created within the tradition of contemporary animal portraiture, the painting combines recognisable form with expressive, impasto-inspired texture. Thick, visible strokes give movement to the mane and dimension to the body, while metallic gold accents introduce warmth and light. Rather than pursuing photographic realism, the artist uses texture and contrast to communicate the spirit of the animal.
